Faro airport
transfers.

Faro airport to a villa in Vilamoura is a 25-minute drive on the A22. A pre-booked driver at arrivals — holding a name card, flight already tracked — sets the tone for the whole stay. The first hour of a holiday is the wrong hour for a taxi-rank queue.

Licensed, insured, flight-tracked. Every driver on our list is TVDE-licensed and carries the required passenger insurance.

What it is

Meet-and-greet at Faro arrivals

The driver waits in the arrivals hall of Faro airport with a name card, not roadside. Bags go straight into the boot, the AC is already running, and the car is on the A22 within ten minutes of the guest walking out of customs. In peak summer that saves 45–60 minutes over the taxi rank.

For the return leg the driver arrives at the villa 2h30 before flight departure by default — configurable earlier for early-morning Ryanair flights or later if the guest wants to squeeze the last morning of pool time.

How booking works

Direct booking, transparent pricing

We introduce the guest to the transfer company by email once flight details are confirmed. The guest sends flight number, arrival time and headcount. The company confirms price and pickup instructions. Payment is direct — card link, bank transfer or cash on arrival.

No markup on our side, no "concierge fee" added to the fare. If you'd rather bundle the transfer into a full welcome package (welcome hamper waiting, fridge stocked, chef booked for night one), we can coordinate — but the transfer itself remains a direct contract with the driver.

Local context

Faro airport and the A22

Faro (FAO) is the Algarve's only international airport and handles almost every flight into Vilamoura. The A22 motorway runs the length of the Algarve coast — Vilamoura is exit 12 (Loulé/Quarteira). Off-peak the drive is 22 minutes. Sunday-afternoon peak in August it can stretch to 40 minutes when the A22 is heavy.

Rental cars are available at Faro too, but for a one-week stay the transfer-plus-taxi combination is almost always cheaper than a hire car with insurance, and it skips the airport-office queue on both ends.

Common questions

How much does a transfer from Faro to Vilamoura cost?+

€45–€65 for a sedan (1–3 passengers, standard luggage). €70–€95 for a Mercedes Vito or V-Class (4–7 passengers). Late-night surcharge (after 23:00) is typically €10. Prices are per vehicle, not per person.

What happens if the flight is delayed?+

Every driver on our list tracks the flight in real time via the airline feed. Delays of up to 3 hours are absorbed at no extra charge. Diversions or cancellations trigger a re-book at cost, not full re-charge.

Can I request child seats?+

Yes. Baby seats (0–13 kg), toddler seats and booster seats are available on request at no extra charge — but they must be flagged when booking, not on arrival. Portuguese law requires child seats up to 135 cm or 12 years.

Do drivers speak English?+

Every driver on our list speaks conversational English. Most also speak French or German. Portuguese is a given.
